Muse, The Strokes and My Chemical Romance have been confirmed as the headline acts at this summer’s Reading and Leeds Festivals.

My Chemical Romance front man, Gerard Way, spoke of his group’s enthusiasm for the other artists: ‘We’re honoured to be sharing headlines with them. The Strokes are one of our all-time favourite bands.’

Brit-pop band, Pulp, the latest in a string of group reunions, will also be performing as co-headliners at the popular summer festival.

Other bands granted a spot on the main stage include 30 Seconds To Mars, The Offspring, The National, Jimmy Eat World, Elbow and Interpol.

Revellers flocking to the two destinations can also expect to hear from the likes of Beady Eye (Liam Gallagher’s new project), White Lies, Jane’s Addiction, Crystal Castles, 2ManyDJs and The Streets.

These acts are set to appear on the NME/Radio 1 stage.

Reading and Leeds festivals will take place between 26-28 August 2011, at Branham Park, Leeds, and Little John’s Farm in Reading. Tickets are now on sale; weekend passes are priced at £192.50.
